MSU Student Affairs offering scholarships to help current students next year
The Department of Student Affairs at Michigan State University is sponsoring over 20 scholarships for current students for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year.
The scholarships are intended to help ease the financial burden of tuition for many MSU students and are available to many student demographics, including parents, LGBTQ+ students, veterans, among others.
“Student affairs has had these scholarships for years and you just need to be a student at MSU who qualifies for all the criteria for whatever the different criteria for the different scholarships, whether it’s leadership, or GPA , or something to that effect,” said Assistant Vice, Allyn Shaw, president for student engagement and leadership.
The deadline to apply for the scholarships with Student Affairs is March 14 and applicants should expect to know the results of their application by mid-April.
All current students are encouraged to search the Student Affairs website for one or more scholarships that suit their demographics and needs, and all will receive equal consideration among their peers.
To search for scholarships and apply, simply go to the Student Affairs website, click on the section titled “Live, Learn, Lead” and then click on “Student Affairs Scholarships”.
Each scholarship, offering thousands of dollars in rewards, has its own criteria for applying and being accepted. Students are recommended to carefully read the description of each scholarship before applying. However, the only mandatory criteria a student must meet is to be a current MSU student.
Shaw said the scholarships are designed specifically to be easily accessible to students and have a quick and navigable application process.
“We hope to make things as easy as possible for students, so you can apply directly online, then all the different scholarship committees will start reading at the end of March, and students should know by mid-April if they have any. receive one or not.” said Shaw.
