Personal data we collect 
Jules Holding B.V. and its subsidiaries (hereafter: Jules) collect & process your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide us with the said data yourself. 

Here you find an overview of the personal data we need from you to process your Jules membership

  • A valid IBAN & BIC bank or PayPal account and/or credit card to perform an automatic collection of your membership fee 

We can receive additional personal data from you when you (actively) register or set up a profile on this website and/or app, in correspondence (email or written) or via the telephone. These details will be used by us to answer your questions or to enable you to make a purchase in our webshop

Personal tenant data saved by us 
We need certain data from you as soon as you rent a room, apartment, house or other living space via Jules. We share this data with the owner of the premises. Contact details for the owner can be found in your rental agreement. 

  • All data on the check-in / check-out forms  
  • Invoices / payment details 
  • Copy of your passport or ID card 
  • Proof of admission to your educational institution 
  • Emergency contact details as provided by you 
  • All data as provided by you and recorded in the rental agreement: 
    • First name and last name 
    • Nationality 
    • Passport, ID card and/or driver’s license number  
    • Date of birth  
    • (Mobile) phone number(s)  
    • Postal code, place of residency, country 
    • Field of study 

Special and/or sensitive personal data  
Our website and/or services do not have the intention to record data from visitors to our website younger than 16 years of age. An exception will be made when they have explicit consent from his/her parents/legal guardian. It is impossible for us to check if a visitor to our website is over 16 years. Our recommendation is that parents/legal guardians stay involved in their children’s online behavior as to prevent data collection without their consent. If you feel we have collected data without this consent, please contact us on privacy@jules-group.com and if we find this is indeed the case we will remove the corresponding data within 10 working days. 

Jules process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • The handling and processing of your payment  
  • Sending you our newsletter and/or advertising brochures (if you provided us your permission via our opt-in) 
  • To call you or email you when it is necessary for the adequate execution of our services 
  • To inform you on changes to our services and/or products 
  • To deliver goods and/or services to you 
  • To offer you the option of opening an account 
  • Jules will analyze your website behavior in order to improve our website and personalize our services and product offer. This concerns the following websites:  
  • Jules also processes your personal data when it is required by law, such as data necessary (but not limited to) tax returns. 

Automated decision-making 
Jules will not take any decisions that can have (considerable) personal consequences on the basis of automated decision-making. This refers to decisions made by computers or computer systems without the involvement or intervention of a person (such as an employee of Jules or any of its subsidiaries). 

Period of time we will store your personal data 
Jules will save your personal data no longer than absolutely necessary to realize the purpose for which your data were collected. For the various categories of personal data stored the following periods will be used: 

Jules Membership 
We store your data for the duration of the legale required time period. If no legal period is defined, we will store the data for a maximum of 6 months after termination of the membership. After eater the legally period or 6 months (which comes first), we will remove the data permanently. 

Rental agreements 
Rental agreements (print and/or digital) will be stored for the duration of the legale required time period. If no legal period is defined, we remove your data after the termination of your agreement and (only) when all payments are met your data will remain saved for 6 months and then permanently removed. 

Invoices will be saved for the duration of the legally required time period. 

Customer service questions  
Any questions, remarks, suggestions you send to us will be linked to your Jules membership and stored for the duration of your membership. If you want us to remove these data, please send us an email at privacy@jules-group.com  and we will remove the data for you. 

Rental maintenance requests 
Questions or requests for maintenance or assistance regarding your living space will be linked to your Jules membership and stored for the duration of your membership. If you want us to remove these data, please send us an email at privacy@jules-group.com and we will remove the data for you. 

Sharing your personal data with third parties 

  • Jules will share your personal data with third parties only when necessary for the effectuation of any agreement we have with you and to fulfill any legal obligations we have. With companies that process your data we have a so-called processor agreement to insure you will receive an uniform and adequate level of protection of your personal data. 
  • We share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. 
  • In the event we use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and/or a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies will not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order. 
  • We partner with other parties to provide specific services (such as health insurance). When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Cookies or comparable site visitor trackers 
Jules uses (functional, analytical or tracking) “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s computer, tablet or smartphone to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site. 

We informed you of our cookie usage -and asked your permission to use them- when you first visited our website. You can always disable any cookies in the settings of your internet browser on your computer, tablet or smartphone. Here you can also remove any prior information stored while browsing. 

Viewing, adjusting or removing your data 
You have the right to view, update or remove your personal data. You can do this by contacting us via privacy@jules-group.com. You also have the right to withdraw any prior permission to process your data or to object to this processing by Jules You also have the right to data portability. This means you can ask us to transfer any personal data we hold as a digital file to you or any organization as indicated by you. To do so please send us a dedicated and detailed request on privacy@jules-group.com and please indicate so in the “subject” heading.  

We are obligated to make sure this request is done by you and therefore ask you to attach a copy of your passport or ID-card to this request. Please blackout your photo, your MRZ (machine readable zone), your passport number and burgerservicenumber (BSN, if applicable). This is important and necessary to secure your privacy. Jules will respond to your request as soon as possible but always within 20 working days. 

How we protect your personal data 
Jules is committed to protecting you and your privacy and has taken the necessary precautions to prevent abuse, loss or theft of personal data. We are also committed to protecting against unauthorized changes and/or access to your personal data or public disclosure thereof.
