RHS and Student Affairs join forces to create a new division of student life
Michigan State University President Samuel L. Stanley Jr. announced a new structure for student services that will combine units from the Division of Student Affairs and Services and units from Residential and Student Services. ‘Home.
Pending approval at the October 29 board meeting, Senior Vice President Vennie Gore will lead this new unit called the “Division of Student Life and Engagement.”
Stanley says the new division will reflect the mission and values of the new strategic plan.
“We know that the student experience does not begin and end at the borders of a residence hall, a classroom, or the city limits,” Stanley said in the email. announcement. “Our university is committed to student success, from enrollment to graduation, regardless of where the student may reside. Therefore, I will now make this temporary realignment permanent.
Gore is the university’s vice president for residential and hospitality services and ancillary businesses. In September 2020, Gore took over the duties of former Vice President for Student Affairs Denise Maybank following her departure from the university.
The new position will make this change of duties permanent.
